BITTEN

Bonjour Grann,

I woke from a late noon nap to Bijou barking in front of Marvella. I didn't want to get up. But her barking continued, and the spell had been broken; my nap was over.

The black-eared, white rabbit was running in circles, and Bijou was on the rabbit's tail, energetic, playful, and prancing as much as the rabbit was hopping, dodging and leaping.

I darted into the haphazard hubbub, but with a little more determination than Bijou. I moved in the opposite direction as Bijou, and as the rabbit turned from me, and eyed down a black, four-legged, lethal Labrador, I scooped in and grabbed the rabbit from behind.

And the frightened, frenzied furball bit me!

The rabbit jumped from my hands and got away; three times if you count twice from Bijou and once from me. You don't have to worry, Grann; I washed the wound and used some ointment from one of the first aid kits. I won't try to catch the rabbit again; besides how will I care for it when winter arrives?

I wanted to start on my Altar to Dieu today. I planned on building the altar out by the pond, but my hand is in too much pain from the rabbit bite. Thank Dieu it's my right hand and not my left, I wouldn't be able to write my words to you.

Sleep well, Grann.
