I spent the morning messing about outside of Marvella. I thought I would get something done early. But my stomach was still queasy. So, I hung back a bit hoping to feel better.
And once I started towards the area of the meadow I wanted to explore, I did feel better, and when Bijou joined me, prancing alongside, happy, and excited that we were exploring once again, I felt even better.
The land gently slopes down in the north-east corner of the meadow, to the banks of a huge pond that takes a good four or five minutes to walk around. I don't know how I missed seeing the pond from Marvella when I can see Marvella from the pond.
A pair of ducks were perched on a tree branch overhanging the pond; have you ever heard of ducks in a tree?!
Bijou waded into the waters and began swimming around the pond. And out came a small family of baby ducklings! They were hiding among the reeds and scattered once Bijou entered the water. I wanted to catch one of the ducklings so badly, that I freed my clothes, and I jumped in the pond and instantly became an icicle! I swam to the middle of the pond, and I turned right back around, with fish parting the water in front of me!
Grandpapa taught me to fish. I can catch fish, barely, but I still can.
Now I sit here, Grann, looking at my life, and understanding my life before no longer exists. I'll never be found. Sometimes I cry. But I keep my spirits high by thinking of our times together, and your words of encouragement. I know I can survive because of all I have been taught.
