You wouldn't believe it even if you did see it with your own eyes. But I figure it will be awhile before we're rescued. And Ma mere always kept a clean house. I wouldn't want her to find me and see all the dirt and dust; we're not animals!
I didn't start out working very fast, but once I began moving all the canned foods off the shelf, and placing them on the table, I was working steadily. I washed the shelves and moved all the cleaned cans back. And now that I've finished at least half the work, I'm happy. It's like my own home. I call my home, Marvella, for miracle.
The food doesn't look too bad. There are containers of white rice, wheat, barley, and dried rye berries. And even cans with different types of meat, like chicken, turkey, and roast beef. Meat in cans! Whoever heard of turkey in a can?!
I make sure I heat the food to extra boil, just to be safe; that's something Ma mere taught me.
Oh, and I almost forgot; I found a key marked: boathouse key. I thought it meant the cabin I'm in is a boathouse, and the key is a spare but there isn't a boat; and the two keys are different!
Maybe tomorrow I'll find a lock for the key and a boat.
