MEADOW CABIN

Bonjour Grann,

I woke this morning believing this is the day Bijou and I make it back home; it is only a matter of crossing over the jagged mountains and reaching the other side. And that is what we set out to do this morning, cross over, and make our way home.

And then another miracle happened, Grann! Bijou spotted a black-eared, white rabbit with a large black nose, zigzagging in front of us. Bijou and I gave chase, and the rabbit ran down a narrow ravine; and we came to a large open meadow.

And then I saw a cabin at the far end of the meadow. I was more than excited. I was hoping the people had a phone to call home. Then Bijou and I would be rescued!

Bijou continued after the rabbit, but I ran towards the log cabin with the rock foundation, the best I could without shoes, but running turned out pointless, because the cabin was unoccupied and locked with a deadbolt.

But I had an idea; and once I found the key under a rock near the front door, I unlocked the door. Inside I saw a table in the middle of the cabin, all sorts of foods, biodegradable loofahs,

detergents and other supplies sitting on open shelves, stacked several feet high against the walls, and plastic wrapped blankets and pillows stacked even higher on another floor to ceiling shelf.

The previous occupants were not only well supplied, but kept the place clean, at least while they were here.

Now I sit here resting, feeling blessed, and tired!
