SHARK BITE!

Bonjour Grann,

There's been a bit of fishing excitement, even though fishing is boring, come to find out, that is what is wanted. Unless you find fighting a shark with razor-sharp teeth exciting.

I fought to pull the five-foot dogfish ashore, and doing my best not to get bit by the shark's double row of razor teeth.

But it caught my left ankle, and bit me hard, and deep for such a small shark, I must've outweighed the dog shark by seventy-five pounds!

Once again, I'm laid up, and unable to properly care for myself, or even Bijou; this time with a severely damaged ankle. I treated my ankle, and I could walk at first, Grann, but then my ankle swelled making walking painful.

I thought I could lay off of my foot for awhile, but it didn't take long before Bijou was barking behind the cabin like she was fighting off a grizzly bear, or something much worse, like our friend Binky, the hand biting rabbit.

However, even though Bijou didn't have Binky in her mouth, she had a smaller rabbit in her mouth, it was still too big to mourn over and bury. Bijou would get some, just not all of it. Even the food she catches needs to be respected no matter our food abundance.

Sleep well, Grann.
