LA CLAQUE CHAMBERS

Bonjour Grann,

I'm at Rock Boot Cove at the entrance to La Claque Cave, I didn't have any real goal, but maybe to get away from my work for a while. I didn't feel like swimming and getting wet, it's colder this morning than it has been, so I walked around the bay to the cave entrance.

I don't have a light source to see in the cave. And I don't have a long rope to strap around my waist to help anchor and guide me in and out of the cave. And I don't want to walk all the way back, Grann; so, I'll give in to flying by the seat of my pants!

The echo of my footsteps made it sound like others were coming from inside the cave chambers, but when I stopped, and waited, the footsteps stopped, and all I heard was sea lions barking from a distance and waves crashing against ocean rocks.

It quickly got dark inside La Claque, in the left side tunnel, but the corridor ended just as suddenly at a rock wall. I felt more confident as I continued down the right-side corridor; my fears I felt were for not.

The floor of the cave changed as I stepped deeper inside the cavity from firm sand and pebbles to sand covered stone. And even further inside, when seeing was almost impossible, icicle-shaped columns rose from the cave floor and blocked much of the passage.

I saw the corroded contraption lying, broken on the cave floor. Even though it's in horrible condition, I knew that I was looking at a metal detector someone left behind, a long time ago. The 'Ocean Treasure Master' looks as if it was left back before I was born.

I wonder what they were searching for? Did they know what they were looking for or did they just hope to find something of value, like a lost pirate's chest?

I'll keep searching, I'm feeling lucky; I can feel it in my bones.
