FINAL MAPPING

Bonjour Grann,

I love muted island sounds at night, peaceful and comforting.

I must have spent hours walking and sometimes stumbling. It was much more difficult than I imagined. I measured my stride with a three-foot-meter stick, and I believe I have a two-foot stride. With those measurements, I paced off the distance from Marvella to Kana the pond, and it came to 360 paces north-east, or 720 feet from the cabin.

The rock quarry is close to Marvella at only 160 paces west of the cabin; but the stone firepit is closer at twelve paces from the front of the cabin. Marvella to the trailhead that leads to Sea Lion Sand is 110 paces due south, and 450 total paces to Hangman's Tree, which is at the edge of Sea Lion Sand. The longest distance is from Marvella to Strawberry Clay which is about 700 paces. Even the distance to Strawberry Clay trailhead is roughly 500 paces, or 1000 feet from the cabin, or almost the length of three football fields.

I'm not sure if those measurements are straight-up exact, but those are what I have. I hope this gives you an idea of my homeland. I believe I'm on an island in the Pacific without any hope of discovery. But I have you, and Bijou, and Dieu; and even though I cry at night, I won't give up.

Keep me in your prayers, Grann. Sleep well.
